Methodology
How we check
This page explains how Succeed reviews the competition and program pages on the site: what we check, how official sources are used, and what the dates on a page mean.
What Succeed checks
- Competitions
- We review public competition details such as eligibility, cost, entry format, deadlines, recognition and submission requirements.
- Programs
- We review public program details such as eligibility, age range, cost, duration, location, format, accommodation, meals and application timing.
- Online programs
- We review public online program details such as eligibility, age range, cost, duration, learning format, scheduling, mentor model, outputs and application timing.
Guides in the Summer Programs series follow their own methodology.
How official sources are used
Succeed uses official provider information where available, then rewrites it into a student-facing summary for comparison and planning. We use source material to verify core facts.
What Last verified means
Last verified is the latest date Succeed checked the public details shown on a page. Some pages give it in the line "Facts checked against the official page on" followed by the date. Competition details, and program dates, prices and availability, can still change.
Editor and Reviewed by
"Editor" names the Succeed editor responsible for the page. "Reviewed by" with a date appears only when that person has read the whole page against its sources on that date.
Commercial relationships
When Succeed has a commercial partnership with a provider, or the provider is linked to a member of the Succeed team, the page says so under its title and wherever that provider is suggested. When a person has checked that there is no such relationship, the Sources section at the end of the page says so.
Why some dates are reference dates
If the current cycle is not available, Succeed may show the latest verified cycle dates so you can understand typical timing. Always check current application instructions before applying, and current submission instructions before entering.
