Save programTKS Toronto is an in-person innovation accelerator built around emerging technology, project creation and practical problem-solving.
Students meet in a fixed local cohort, explore fields such as AI and biotechnology, and apply their learning through hackathons, company challenges and moonshot projects.
It best suits curious, self-directed students who want substantial project work, direct feedback and a community of similarly ambitious peers.
TKS Toronto is the city-based, in-person version of The Knowledge Society’s innovation accelerator. It combines weekly cohort sessions with self-directed exploration of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, blockchain, genetic engineering and quantum computing.
Students use project-based learning to investigate their interests, build practical work and tackle challenges based on real organizational problems. The experience also includes hackathons, presentations, mindset training, community events and access to mentors from technology, research and industry.
The curriculum moves beyond introductory coding into AI, blockchain, genetic engineering, quantum computing and other emerging fields.
Students repeatedly turn research into projects, proposals, prototypes and presentations rather than relying on tests or textbook exercises.
Company challenges expose students to open-ended problems and structured methods such as first-principles thinking, MECE analysis and root-cause analysis.
A fixed local cohort, full-time directors and industry mentors create several layers of guidance and accountability.
The program culminates in moonshot presentations, a showcase, certification and a portfolio of practical work.
Curious, ambitious students who want to explore emerging technologies, build independently and contribute actively to a close-knit cohort.
You want a short, lecture-led course or cannot consistently attend weekend sessions and make time for substantial independent projects.
TKS Toronto can be worthwhile for a student who will use its mentors, project framework and peer community to produce work they would struggle to build alone. Its strongest value lies in sustained practice: researching unfamiliar fields, solving open-ended problems and presenting concrete recommendations.
The commitment is substantial, and participation alone will not guarantee internships, university admission or a particular career outcome. Families should judge the fee and weekly workload against how ready the student is to take initiative between sessions.
