About Center for Excellence in Education
The Center for Excellence in Education is a nonprofit STEM education organization founded in 1983. It nurtures high school and university scholars toward careers in STEM and business and sponsors four free programs: RSI, USABO, TEP, and STEM Lyceums.
Teaching style
CEE uses challenging, experiential STEM activities that include research, competition, discussion, exploration, and collaboration.
Reputation & Succeed take
CEE says its programs are nationally and internationally recognized. Its alumni honors include major science-competition results, a Fields Medal, MacArthur Fellowships, Rhodes Scholarships, Marshall Scholarships, and other distinctions.
Our take
CEE offers a broad STEM ecosystem spanning advanced research, biology competition, teacher enrichment, and student STEM communities. All four core programs are free to participants, while several student pathways emphasize high academic achievement.
CEE combines four complementary formats under one nonprofit: research experience, biology competition, teacher development, and a virtual STEM community. The provider states that all four are offered free to participants.
Who this provider suits
Who should choose them
CEE is best suited to academically talented high school and university students pursuing STEM leadership, high school teachers seeking enrichment, and students interested in research, competitive biology, or STEM communities. Some initiatives specifically support students from under-resourced communities.
Who it may not suit
Learners seeking arts, humanities, or other non-STEM-focused opportunities should consider a provider with a broader subject mix. Applicants should also check individual program eligibility because pathways such as RSI have strict academic and grade-level requirements.
