English Plus+ is Discovery Summer's English immersion camp, combining language classes with collaborative projects and everyday conversation.
Students practice English through workshops, presentations, sports, cultural visits and time with English Student Hosts.
It suits learners who want to become more comfortable using English socially as well as academically.
English Plus+ is Discovery Summer's residential English camp at Winchester College. It combines English Skills lessons with task-based workshops, cultural study visits and presentations. Students join classes matched to their age and English level after written and oral placement tests.
Learning continues through activities, excursions and conversation with resident English Student Hosts. Workshop projects can involve writing, photography, media or other creative topics, giving students a practical reason to use English. Boarding-house life and a shared activity schedule make social participation a central part of the experience.
Level-based classes give students a more appropriate starting point than a single mixed-level group.
Collaborative workshops and presentations turn English practice into purposeful work.
Resident English Student Hosts extend conversation practice beyond formal lessons.
The fee bundles teaching, full board, excursions and practical residential support.
Published welfare policies explain supervision, parent consent and emergency support.
English learners who enjoy group projects, activities and conversation, and feel ready for a structured boarding-house experience.
You want private accommodation, unrestricted phone access or a course focused entirely on formal exam preparation.
English Plus+ has a clear educational purpose if your main goal is becoming more comfortable using English. Level-matched classes, collaborative workshops and conversation with Student Hosts provide several ways to practice each day. The strongest value comes from joining in outside the classroom as well as during lessons.
The residential fee represents a substantial family commitment, so compare the complete package with shorter or local language courses. Traditional shared accommodation and restricted phone access may also affect the fit. The included DS certificate and optional Trinity exam are distinct outcomes, and exam participation costs extra.
