Future Scientists combines English development with accessible biology, chemistry and physics rather than specialist laboratory study.
Students investigate questions, interpret evidence, solve problems collaboratively and build a science-themed project for a Time to Shine presentation.
It suits curious students who want broad scientific exploration, structured campus life and extensive opportunities to communicate in English.
Future Scientists is an English-through-science summer program designed and delivered by Summer Boarding Courses. It uses themes from biology, chemistry and physics to develop scientific vocabulary, communication and evidence-based thinking.
Students attend interactive lessons, investigate accessible questions and work with classmates on a science-themed project. The current official course experience takes place at Headington School in Oxford and combines academics with activities, excursions and an evening social program.
Biology, chemistry and physics give students broad exposure before they specialize.
The Time to Shine project turns classroom learning into a collaborative presentation.
A 15-student class maximum creates room for individual guidance and feedback.
Residential and day formats let families choose between boarding and commuting.
Campus activities, evening events and excursions make this a rounded summer-school experience.
Curious students who want to explore several sciences while building confidence using English in lessons, teamwork and presentations.
You want advanced laboratory specialization, a narrowly focused science course or a program taught independently of English-language development.
It can be worthwhile for a student seeking a supervised, activity-rich introduction to science in an international English-speaking environment. Small classes, a team project, tutor feedback and a completion certificate provide more structure than an ordinary holiday camp.
The main limitation is depth: the course intentionally favors accessible scientific ideas and communication over specialist laboratory work. Families should also weigh the substantial fee and decide whether the residential experience, excursions and English development justify the cost.
