What Succeed checks
We review public program details such as eligibility, age range, cost, duration, location, format, accommodation, meals and application timing.
What Last verified means
Last verified is the latest date Succeed checked the public details shown on this page. Program dates, prices and availability can still change.
How official sources are used
Succeed uses official provider information where available, then rewrites it into a student-facing summary for comparison and planning.
Why some dates are reference dates
If the current cycle is not available, Succeed may show the latest verified cycle dates so you can understand typical timing.
Succeed is independent from this provider unless a partnership is clearly stated.

Future Engineers introduces practical engineering through design-and-build challenges, with bridges, simple machines, and robotics among the examples.
Campers brainstorm with teammates, test prototypes, and improve their designs while exploring mechanical and electrical engineering.
It suits students who enjoy making things and want to discover whether engineering's trial-and-improve approach appeals to them.
Future Engineers is Ridley College's practical engineering camp within its Explorers Camps offering. Campers learn engineering principles by applying them to real-world design challenges, with bridges, simple machines, and robotics among the activities described.
The experience emphasizes making, testing, and improving rather than simply hearing about engineering careers. Students work with their team to brainstorm ideas, test prototypes, and refine designs while exploring fields from mechanical to electrical engineering.
Testing and refining prototypes gives campers a practical introduction to how engineering decisions develop.
Mechanical and electrical engineering coverage helps students explore more than one branch of the subject.
Team brainstorming connects technical problem-solving with collaboration.
Groups capped at 20 campers and trained staff provide useful reassurance for families.
Daily hot lunch and defined drop-off and pickup windows make day-camp planning straightforward.
Students who enjoy building things, working with others, and improving an idea through experimentation.
Your main goal is sustained study of one specialist engineering field; this camp emphasizes exploration across different kinds of practical projects.
Future Engineers is a useful way to test whether you enjoy engineering's practical process: proposing an idea, building something, and changing it after testing. Its value lies in discovering what interests you and developing confidence through collaborative challenges.
The breadth of project examples makes it an exploratory experience, so students seeking substantial depth in a single engineering discipline may prefer a more specialized course. Families should also weigh the daily travel commitment and arrange care around the published camp hours.

Moderate practical engagement.
Best started
Allow a few weeks before your chosen session to organize transport, care, and daily supplies; allow longer for international travel.
Main challenge
Staying patient when a prototype needs another revision.
Practice explaining why a simple design works and how you might improve it.
Arrange drop-off and pickup around the camp's published windows.
Prepare two nut-free snacks and a refillable water bottle for each day.
Register for extended care in advance if your family needs it.
Useful if
You want to explore engineering through making and experimentation.
You explore engineering principles through practical challenges involving structures, machines, and robotics. Working with teammates, you move from initial ideas to tested prototypes and improved designs.

A typical day during the program.
Explorers campers arrive at B Squad, in front of Lower School; rainy-day arrivals use the Fieldhouse.
Engineering activities take place during the camp day, with hot lunch provided daily.
Families collect campers during the standard dismissal window.
Advance registration is required, and care drop-off and pickup use the Fieldhouse.
Camp Ridley uses qualified, trained staff, and instructors hold standard first aid, CPR, and AED certifications and have passed police record checks. Full-time nursing staff are also on campus.
Camp Ridley publishes low camper-to-instructor ratios and groups of no more than 20 students.
Boarding is a separate two- or four-week package; Future Engineers follows its own published camp weeks.
After completing this program, participants often pursue:
Build a clearer understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering.
Develop problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
Practice collaborative brainstorming and prototype testing.
Gain experience refining an engineering design.
Future Engineers takes place at Ridley College, 2 Ridley Road, St. Catharines, Ontario, in Canada's Niagara Region. Explorers campers use B Squad in front of Lower School for standard arrivals and departures, with the Fieldhouse used when it rains.
