TeenTech Camp is a practical technology program from the University of Ottawa's Engineering Outreach team, bringing together coding, electronics, and digital design.
Activities span 3D modeling, laser cutting, technology development, and programming. Numbered camp versions share a format but use different projects.
It suits students who want to explore several technical interests through activities before choosing a more specialized subject.
TeenTech Camp is a technology-focused camp organized by the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Engineering through Engineering Outreach. Students explore electronics, technology development, 3D modeling, laser cutting, coding, and programming through practical activities.
The camp connects digital design with opportunities to explore how technology is made and used. TeenTech 1 and TeenTech 2 follow the same format and schedule, with different projects across the numbered versions.
Combining coding, electronics, and digital fabrication helps students compare technical interests through practical experience.
Different projects in the numbered versions give returning campers a way to broaden their experience.
Engineering Outreach provides a university-based setting for exploring technology beyond regular school lessons.
French support alongside English teaching can help bilingual families evaluate the learning environment.
Students who enjoy making things and want to compare coding, electronics, and digital design through practical activities.
You want to concentrate exclusively on one programming language rather than explore a varied technology curriculum.
TeenTech is worth considering when a student's main goal is to test several technology interests through practical work. Its combination of coding, electronics, and design provides useful material for deciding what to explore next.
The broad activity mix means attention is shared across several topics, so students seeking depth in one area should compare specialist options. Families should also weigh the full-day routine, daily travel, and cancellation terms against their summer plans.
