Leaders Who Game: Strategy & Teamwork Through Play is Appleby College's academic enrichment course about leadership and effective team decisions. It uses gaming principles to examine how strategy, teamwork, and leadership contribute to success in competitive and high-pressure situations.
Students compare eSports-style team dynamics with real-world teams, then apply ideas through case studies, collaborative challenges, and roleplay. The junior learning experience combines classroom activities with structured active time. Gaming provides the examples, while the course itself excludes esports and online video game play.
Gaming-inspired examples offer an approachable way to investigate serious questions about leadership and teamwork.
Case studies, collaborative challenges, and roleplay give students opportunities to apply strategic ideas.
The maximum class size of 15 supports a setting where group participation matters.
The junior structure balances academic discussion with daily active learning.
Students who enjoy discussing strategy and want to practice working with others through academic group challenges.
Your main goal is playing online games or esports, or you prefer a primarily recreational camp.
This course is worth considering if gaming-inspired situations make leadership and teamwork more engaging for your child. Its value lies in practicing decisions with other students and connecting those experiences to real-world team behavior.
Families should expect an academic enrichment experience with substantial classroom time. Students seeking esports practice may find the course unsuitable, and the certificate depends on full attendance.
