iD Tech introduces mobile game and app creation through GameMaker, combining interface design with visual coding and custom game mechanics.
Students move from a prototype to a playable project, with instructor-led learning, peer collaboration, and independent development.
It suits curious game players who want to start making their own experiences and enjoy experimenting with characters, levels, and touchscreen interactions.
Mobile Game Design & App Creation Lab is an iD Tech course focused on creating a touchscreen game or app with GameMaker. Students combine UX design, interface prototyping, visual code, and custom sprites to build an interactive experience.
The virtual camp pairs small-group teaching and peer collaboration with independent project development. Its sample curriculum progresses from a score-tracking game to a design document, mobile interactions, customization, and final playtesting.
The project connects UX planning with implementation, helping students see how an interface becomes a playable experience.
Visual code and events provide a practical route into creating game mechanics.
Live teaching is paired with independent development, giving students time to apply ideas to their own project.
Students keep their final project and receive launch instructions plus an official skills transcript.
Students who want to turn a game idea into a playable project and enjoy designing characters, interfaces, and interactions.
Your child wants exclusively one-on-one instruction or cannot make time for independent development alongside live sessions.
This is a useful option for a child ready to move from playing games to designing one. The progression from wireframe to working project gives the learning a clear purpose, while a final project makes progress visible.
The main trade-off is the sustained daily commitment: independent development is a substantial part of the experience. Treat the transcript as a record of skills practiced and the project as a starting point for further experimentation.
