    Future Leaders summary

Future Leaders is Ridley College’s leadership-focused Explorers camp. It connects political leadership, ethical decision-making and media literacy with challenges facing Canada and the global community.

Campers explore different decision-making roles through debates, simulations and hands-on activities. It suits students interested in current affairs and how leaders communicate responsibly.

    What is Future Leaders?

Future Leaders is a leadership-focused camp within Ridley College’s Explorers offerings. It explores how policymakers, strategists, advocates and entrepreneurs respond to political, economic and social challenges. Campers connect these roles with questions about responsible leadership and community change.

The experience uses hands-on activities, debates and simulations to make those questions practical. Students examine how social media and AI influence public opinion and decisions. The emphasis is on critical thinking, ethical choices and communicating with integrity.

    Why Succeed highlights Future Leaders

    • Debates and simulations give students practical ways to examine leadership decisions.

    • Social media and AI connect the camp’s political focus with contemporary questions about influence.

    • Ethical decision-making adds substance beyond confidence-building alone.

    • Small groups, nursing support and daily lunches offer useful family-planning advantages.

    Who is Future Leaders for?

    Best for

Students curious about politics, public opinion and ethical leadership who enjoy discussing ideas and taking part in group activities.

    Not ideal if

You prefer a narrowly focused technical course or mostly independent study, since this camp emphasizes debates, simulations and leadership roles.

    Is Future Leaders worth it?

Future Leaders is worth considering if a student wants to test an interest in politics and leadership through active participation. Its combination of debate, ethical questions and media literacy offers several ways to discover which aspects of public decision-making interest them most.

Its breadth also creates a limitation: several substantial topics share a short camp experience. Treat it as an introduction and a chance to build confidence, rather than expecting advanced specialization.
