Innovation Log, up to 15 pages
Develop an original innovation, demonstrate digital or creative skills, or investigate a research question through a structured project.
Choose from categories spanning health, education, AI, creative media, transport, sustainability, safety, construction and research.
The process suits students who want to turn an interest into a researched project and explain its purpose, execution and potential impact.
The TeenTech Awards is a project competition organized by TeenTech that challenges students to apply science, technology and creativity to real-world interests or problems. Entrants choose an innovation, skills or research category and develop an original response.
Students can build an idea, showcase work such as a game, animation, digital music or art, or investigate a subject and present their findings. Projects are documented in an Innovation Log, while the strongest entries progress to a final where students present their work to judges.
The broad categories let students connect STEM with health, design, media, music, food, transport and other real-world interests.
Every submitted project receives feedback and bronze, silver or gold recognition, so value is not limited to finalists.
Industry mentor support gives participants a route to informed advice while developing their ideas.
The judging criteria reward research, feasibility, market understanding and reflection alongside originality.
An adaptable eight-week framework can help schools turn an open-ended idea into a structured project.
Curious students who want to investigate a problem, build an innovation, showcase digital creativity or complete a focused research project.
You want a short quiz-style contest with minimal project development, research or written documentation.
The TeenTech Awards can be worthwhile because the process combines subject exploration with research, problem-solving and communication. Feedback and tiered recognition for every submitted project give entrants a concrete outcome even if they do not reach the final.
Its value depends on taking the development process seriously: judges expect evidence that entrants understand the problem, users, alternatives and feasibility. Students seeking a quick credential may find the Innovation Log and project refinement demanding, but committed entrants can produce useful evidence of sustained academic and creative interest.
