Cambridge, UK: Strategy and International Management is a Wharton Global Youth academic program focused on how organizations compete, grow and operate across borders. Interactive lectures from Wharton faculty and UK guest speakers connect management theory with contemporary company challenges.
Students prepare university-level business cases, use strategy frameworks and collaborate in simulations. The experience culminates in a team strategy presentation to expert judges, who provide feedback on the analysis and recommendations.
Company cases give students a concrete way to test business theories against real management decisions.
The capstone presentation adds expert feedback to team problem-solving.
Wharton faculty and UK professionals connect academic frameworks with international business practice.
Business visits and cultural excursions help students connect organizational decisions with their surroundings.
Students interested in management and international business who want to analyze companies, collaborate on strategy and present their reasoning.
You prefer mainly independent study or want a summer experience with little academic preparation, teamwork or presentation.
This program offers a useful test of whether you enjoy the analytical work behind business strategy. Preparing cases and defending a team recommendation can make your interest more specific, while expert feedback gives you something concrete to reflect on afterward.
The substantial fee makes the decision depend on how much you value faculty teaching, residential learning and business visits together. Treat the certificate as a record of learning; participation does not guarantee Penn admission.
